My mom has gotten really into pottery in the last few years and while I was home this summer she and her pottery friends had a raku firing. I tagged along to help out. It was quite interesting as raku fired pottery looks quite different from regular pottery:
The glazed pieces before firing.
Pieces in the kiln before firing.
Spraying pieces with water to cool them down.
